Why are we always told to take calcium for our bones? The question should be what makes us lose bone in the first place?
It is important to understand that bone is a living tissue as long as we are alive. Bones constantly lose and replace cells. When we lose more cells than we replace bones become more porous than they should be, making them brittle and able to break or crush more easily. When we hear that an elderly woman has fallen and broken her hip could it really be that maybe her hip broke first which then caused her to fall? I think this could be more common than we think. Age alone is not a reason why bones become porous. There has got to be a real cause.
Only once in my life has a doctor ever mentioned my blood pH. I had a blood test done sometime in the 80's. During the review of my results he said that everything looks good except this one little thing. I asked "What is that one little thing?" He said that my pH might be a little "off". I asked what that would mean and he casually said "it might just mean you could have dental problems". WHAT?? I had had dental problems my entire life. To this day I fear going to the dentist. That doctor visit has stuck out in my mind ever since. When I started taking AIM BarleyLife and stopped drinking so much milk. I began to focus on raising my body pH. Funny thing. I have noticed that I don't have the dental problems I was so fearful of growing up. I wonder if my bones were beginning to look like my teeth - full of cavities?
.... We need to stop making our kids drink milk!
Opposite of what the main stream is promoting, we eat too much protein. Everyone is focused on high protein low carb diets. Protein and more protein is being consumed every day. What people don't realize is that this high protein diet is causing something called acid ash. As your body breaks down and burns up protein the ash that is left is acidic. Grains, nuts and seeds also make our body acidic. The real biggie for making your body acidic is your mental attitude. Negative thoughts can cause bone loss!! Just STOP IT! Be Happy! Be Alkaline! Oh and of course eat more fresh fruits and vegetables!
The body is equipped with a solution to all this acid. Breathing is one way to remove acid from our body. Naturally our body will buffer acid. Dr. Ted Morter explains that "The acid must be neutralized before it can be eliminated harmlessly." The body knows to buffer acid by using naturally occurring organic sodium that comes from eating fresh fruits and vegetables. The problem is that we eat more and more protein - meats, cheese, grains, seeds, nuts and yes MILK. This means that we are much more acid than our body can buffer with the sodium available. The body will always find a solution to buffer the acid. The next element in line to buffer acid is calcium and the best source of this organic calcium, is bone. We lose bone in order to buffer the acid created from drinking milk and eating high protein diets. This seems so crazy since it is just the opposite of what we are taught in school and told by our doctors.
Milk is a cause of bone loss!! Milk does not do a body good.
Wellness principal from Dr. Morter on page 188: "Additional calcium is not the solution to osteoporosis, less protein is the key"
Don't think that taking calcium supplements from an inorganic source will be a solution. The best thing you can do is to eat more fresh fruits and vegetable, less proteins and grains and check your body pH!
The good news is that the trend can be slowed, stopped or reversed by changing diet and lifestyle choices. Reduce proteins and increase fruits and vegetables. I recommend adding green juices to your daily routine to really boost up your vegetable intake. AIM BarleyLife and LeafGreens are powerful live greens packed with enzymes and nutrients. You might also consider buying a high powered emulsifier to blend up your own green smoothies with fresh greens and fruits.
