1st Step: increase the amount of cooked vegetables you eat daily.
2nd Step: reduce the amount of protein foods you eat daily. Have smaller servings of beef, poultry or fish.
3rd Step: cook the vegetables less and include one serving of raw vegetables or fruit each day.
4th Step: Reduce your intake of salt, coffee, tea, cola drinks, and processed foods
Shoot for a daily diet that looks like this:
45% cooked fruits and veggies
30% raw fruits and veggies
25% grains, nuts, seeds, meat, fish, or poultry
This is the ideal plan to follow (with exceptions such as Thanksgiving, holidays birthdays etc.)
It is important to make these changes SLOWLY allowing your body to properly adjust.
The nutrients from food are used to replenish and repair cells. Cells make up your body. Components of that food ultimately become you. The substances that go into your body become the materials of your body. You can't change what your body is made of instantly without noticeable effect. So far I have not tried this plan but I am going to try it in the new year. I think the grains will be the hardest thing to reduce. I love grains...and it shows. Fresh fruits and veggies will be easy. I love them. I also love AIM's BarleyLife, Leaf Greens and the Garden Trio which make eating raw fruits and veggies easy. These concentrated powders are like eating several servings of live veggies in one glass. A well tuned body doesn't run well with inferior fuel.
